│█▓▒░ RemoteAccess 2.00 Menu Manager v1.00b4 (BETA 4) ░▒▓█║
╘══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝
PURPOSE: Andrew Milner and company have done it again!! Still THE best
------- BBS software available today, RemoteAccess v2.00 knocks down the
competition.
RAMM is a clone of the RACONFIG -M menu editor with a "few" added
features to ease the first-time creation and modification of the
RA menus.
FEATURES: RAMM has ALL of the wonderful features in the RACONFIG -M editor,
-------- PLUS:
* Display only editing (for the cosmetic changes).
* As you type output viewing on all DISPLAY line edit fields.
* Quick color selection on all DISPLAY lines (includes blinking)
* < NEW > menu option to create a new menu. You may still enter
a different save name to copy a complete menu to another name,
as in RACONFIG -M, but the < NEW > option is so that you don't
find yourself suddenly editing NONAME.MNU.
* Text file import to grab your external ASC files and put them
right inside your menus.
* Optional automatic *.BAK backup file created for each menu
when it's opened (for those accidental saves). The *.BAK
file is placed in the same directory as the *.MNU file.
* MOVE and COPY line buffering. No more drawing the same line
over and over!
* Complete text-file Control Code listings. You may view simply
as a list, or grab a control code to insert on the line you
are currently editing! Great for customizing menus to fit
each user individually.
* Complete option lists for those confusing Menu Types are shown
on the screen when you are entering a menu entry's Option
Line. This cuts down on the wear and tear of the RA manual
<grin>.
** Optional "User's Eye" point of view using RACE user templates
or user templates you may define in RAMM! Quickly find out
just how a menu will look to any user!
** Flag Descriptions, taken right from RACE or defined within
RAMM, so that you will always remember exactly what you were
using specific flags for. The flag descriptions are displayed
on EVERY flag oriented screen.
* Apply Template Security - Set a menu entry's flags and minimum
security level to reflect a user template's settings. This
is a quick way of insuring that a menu option is valid for
a specific user group.
USAGE: RAMM will read your RA environment variable to locate your
----- LANGUAGE and MENU paths/files. But it's easiest to place RAMM
directly in your RA directory and use it instead of RACONFIG -M.
RAMM will not create new languages so you will need to have your
language file(s) set up first. (Use RACONFIG -L)
** If you wish to import the RACE user templates and user flag
descripions, delete the RAMM.DAT file RAMM.EXE creates and put
RAMM.EXE in the same directory as RACE.EXE (where it can find
the RACE configuration files).
NOTE: Compressing RAMM.EXE with a compression utility is fine.
---- No overlays or self-modifying-configurations are used.
RELEASE: This is a BETA release for RemoteAccess 2.00 system operators.
-------
It is now unlimitted Shareware whereas previous releases were
Freeware. Read "REGISTERING" below.
It may have a few minor bugs in it still so PLEASE ZIP up your
menus before using it (just in case). It will create a backup
file (if you tell it to) for each menu as it is loaded but it's
always better to have a copy of the originals before running a
test program.
REGISTERING:
-----------
Due to the complexity this little program has developed, I'm
asking for a donation of $10.00 USA currency to any who find
RAMM worth its continued use.
This is not manditory, nor is RAMM limited in any way in its
current state. But it will provide me with incentive to
continue its development and future updates.
SUPPORT: If you have any problems or want features that I haven't thought
------- of yet, please drop me a note!

LIMITS: This is included as a reference for RAMM's limitations.
------
MAX DISPLAY lines on a menu is 50. This is the number of
USER displayed lines, NOT the total number of
actual display lines within the menu. Use the
EDIT DISPLAY (ALT-D) feature to check the
length of the display. The last line is always
the prompt line.
It's always a good idea to limit your menu display
lines to 24 lines or less because of most users'
screen lengths and the status line of their
terminal program.
MAX ACTUAL lines on the menu is 125. This is the total
number of option lines within the menu (not
including the PROMPT line). If you have 75
lines in a menu, that's a pretty big menu!
MAX USER DISPLAY line length is 75 characters. This is
using the ruler at the top of the screen. It
may extend further, however I haven't tested it
to see what RA will do.
MAX ACTUAL DISPLAY line length is set to RA's 135 characters.
This should be plenty for a 75 length display
with MANY color change codes.
MAX MENUS per language is 200. Not sure what RA's limit is
(probably 65535 (grin)) but 200 menus per one
language is MORE than enough.
MAX LANGUAGES is 100. Are there 100 written languages?
(probably, but most wouldn't know enough to use
a computer, let alone moderate it for several
other users)
